Unsettled West Brom striker Saido Berahino has held talks with chairman John Williams about his future but is no closer to a new deal.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and, as things stand, will walk away from Albion for free unless the club can persuade him to pen a new deal.
Berahino, who has been placed on a tailored weight-loss programme by head coach Tony Pulis after reportedly turning up for training 8lbs overweight, appears to be agitating for a move but did meet with Williams to discuss his future recently.
The former England Under-21 international turned down a four-year contract offer in July and looked set for a move away with Spurs, Stoke and Leicester among the Premier League clubs interested.
However, a switch away never materialised and he ended up staying at the Hawthorns. There has been speculation that following former owner Jeremy Peace selling the club for £175million to Chinese investor Guochuan Lai Berahino he could now be persuaded to sign a new deal and, while talks have been held, there's been no breakthrough as yet.
