Martin Caceres, who was linked with West Bromwich Albion recently, has reportedly been given a chance to prove himself by Inter Milan.
The Uruguay international is a free agent after his contract with Juventus was allowed to expire in the summer.
He had been in talks with West Brom to join Albion outside the transfer window but La Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed he is on his way to the San Siro instead.
Caceres, 29, has been invited to take part in a trial under the watchful eye of Nerazzurri coach Frank De Boer.
The former Barcelona player can play in a variety of positions in defence, midfield and on the flanks.
