Brighton defender Connor Goldson has signed a new four-year contract to stay at the Sky Bet Championship club until at least June 2020.
The 23-year-old joined from Shrewsbury in August 2015 and established a solid centre-back partnership with Lewis Dunk last season after making his debut in December.
"Connor had a great first season with us, and particularly in the second half of the campaign, when he was excellent," boss Chris Hughton told the official Brighton website.
"He has made great progress in his first year and earned his new deal; he thoroughly deserves it and I've no doubt he has a very bright future ahead with us.
"He has been a little bit unfortunate with injury at the start of the season, but he is back to full fitness now and ready to seize his opportunity."
Wolverhampton-born Goldson played over 100 times for Shrewsbury and has made 30 appearances for Brighton, scoring two goals.
