Burnley boss Sean Dyche is reported to be among the frontrunners for the Everton job following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.
The Toffees parted company with the Dutchman following a poor start to the Premier League season, and the decision was taken after Sunday's 5-2 home loss against Arsenal.
Speculation over the future of Dyche was already hotting up after Leicester City parted company with Craig Shakespeare, and it has now doubled following the news Koeman has also gone.
Dyche recently played down talk of a move to Leicester, describing it as paper talk, but links to a club with the history of Everton is sure to turn his head.
The likes of David Moyes, Carlo Ancelotti and Ryan Giggs are also being heavily linked with the position at Goodison Park, but Dyche is the favourite with some bookmakers.
The Clarets are now bracing themselves for an approach from Everton, who will be looking to make a quick appointment.
