Burnley boss Sean Dyche is believed to be considering a deal to bring veteran keeper Shay Given to Turf Moor this summer.
The 41-year-old shotstopper, who was released by Stoke City earlier this summer, has been training at National League side Macclesfield Town while helping also in a coaching capacity.
However Given could be handed another spell in the top flight with Burnley, who are looking for cover for first-choice keeper Tom Heaton.
It's hoped the former Republic of Ireland keeper Given would pen a one-year deal with the Clarets and compete with Nick Pope for the second-choice spot behind Heaton.
Although chances in the Premier League would be limited, Given could feature in cup matches for Burnley, should a deal go through for the former Newcastle United star.
