Hodgson reveals Palace plans

Palace's form has been on the slide recently and Saturday's 3-1 defeat away at Everton extended the Eagles' winless run to four Premier League matches, leaving the club 15th in the table, just one point above the bottom three.

Injuries have played havoc with team selection as of late and the absence of Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha, who is set to be out of action for a month, was felt in the loss at Goodison Park.

Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Bakary Sako, Connor Wickham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Jeffrey Schlupp, Julian Speroni, Martin Kelly and Mamadou Sakho are also currently on the sidelines.

Palace don't return to action until February 26, a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur, and Hodgson plans to use the extended break as a chance to get his players back to full fitness.

'The players need a rest. They will have the next few days off and then we will be back to work on Wednesday,' he said. 'We will give them a rest until Wednesday now, then we will train Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

'We will give them the weekend off and then we have a Monday game, so we will go through our weekly preparations for that.'
