Ipswich have confirmed midfielder Luke Hyam will be sidelined for at least a further two months after undergoing knee surgery.
The 24-year-old, who has not featured this season after injuring his knee during pre-season, suffered a setback that deemed surgery necessary.
Club physio Matt Byard told the club's website: "Unfortunately the symptoms returned again and having seen a specialist, surgery was recommended this time. Luke's had the operation and we hope that will sort the problem.
"It's going to be another eight weeks or so before we would expect to see him close to being back on the training field."
There was better news about David McGoldrick and Adam Webster on the injury front.
McGoldrick returned to training on Monday after rupturing ankle ligaments in August while Webster, who missed the recent games against Brighton and Huddersfield with a hamstring injury, is expected to be fit to face Blackburn at the weekend.
