The Terriers dropped into the bottom three for the first time this season after Saturday's 2-0 away defeat to Manchester United.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku ensured David Wagner's side have still not won since December 16.

Huddersfield have lost their last five league games but Kongolo was proud of the performance against the Red Devils and he has urged his side to stick together as they try and avoid relegation.

He told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner: 'I was very proud because we defended well. We didn't have a lot of chances but I'm proud that we fought till the last minute.

'In the next few games we have to take points. It is possible, but every game is different.

'We have to stay together as a team and focus on the next games.'
