Brighton boss Chris Hughton has hinted that new signing Jurgen Locadia may play some part against Coventry in Saturday's FA Cup clash.
Locadia made the switch from PSV to the Amex in the January transfer window but has yet to feature for the Seagulls.
The 24-year-old was in the matchday squad for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium and Hughton has indicated that the fans might finally get a glimpse of the club’s record signing this weekend.
'At this moment the FA Cup, would be my thinking,' he said when asked about Locadia's possible debut. 'He has been out for about six weeks but he has trained since last Thursday and I’d say he’s certainly done enough to be on the bench.
'But we also have Glenn [Murray] at the moment who is in good form and it's good to have those options.'
Many clubs seem to treat the FA Cup as a secondary competition and play weakened sides but Hughton does not see it that way.
'It's not a distraction and we're delighted to be in the cup. We've got a very competitive squad at the moment,' he added. 'Our bench is probably as strong as it's been and it's a really good opportunity to use the squad. It's a competition we definitely want to go through in.'
