Matthew Lowton says the 3-0 loss to Leicester was an eye opener for Burnley and feels the game could have been a blessing in disguise.
The Clarets were well beaten by the reigning champions but have responded well since that defeat, bouncing back to beat Watford 2-0 in their next outing before producing a strong showing against Arsenal last Sunday.
Lowton says the players were unhappy with their performance in the game at Leicester and hopes it will serve as a reminder to not let their standards drop for the remainder of the season.
“We were disappointed when we went to Leicester, we had a meeting after that and watched a few clips and realised we weren’t at it as much as had been in other weeks,” the right-back told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“It’s good it happened early in the season and it gave us a kick up the backside. We bounced back against Watford.”
