Leicester City defender Harry Maguire feels playing Premier League opposition in the Asia Trophy is a bonus ahead of next season.
This year is the first time the competition will feature solely English top flight clubs, with the Foxes, Liverpool, West Brom and Crystal Palace all competing.
Maguire, who made the switch from Hull City over the summer, believes playing familiar opposition in pre-season will be great preparation ahead of their opening game of the Premier League campaign against Arsenal on August 11.
He said: "When you're playing Premier League opposition it gets you ready for the first game of the season; you get ready for the tempo.
"Playing a Premier League game makes you feel like you're ready for the season ahead, playing against players that you’re similar to, who you are going to be playing against for the first game of the season."
