Stand-in keeper Nick Pope has hailed skipper and number one Tom Heaton for helping him settle into a first-team spot.
Heaton has been out after undergoing a shoulder operation in September but has still been on hand to help Pope step into his boots.
Pope has kept five clean sheets in eight games since replacing Heaton and has nothing but praise for his skipper.
“I still speak to him daily. He’s a top guy, always wishing me the best of luck, we’re still talking to each other, how he’s getting on and he’s talking to me about the game,” Pope told the Lancashire Telegraph.
“He’s a top guy, I can’t speak highly enough of Heats. Ever since I’ve joined the club he’s been great with me.
“That’s the measure of the guy – he’s happy since I’ve come in the team instead of him, he’s delighted for me. I can’t speak highly enough of him.”
