Burnley boss Sean Dyche says Jon Flanagan is enjoying his time with the Clarets despite his lack of first-team football.
Flanagan has joined the Clarets on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool but he has struggled to force his way into the side, and has just one EFL Cup appearance to his name so far.
The 23-year-old can play in either full-back position but such has been the form of Matt Lowton and Stephen Ward, he has been unable to force his way in.
Flanagan has only just returned from an 18-month injury lay-off and Dyche says he is happy to be at Turf Moor.
“There is a good competition there,” he said. “Flanners has fitted in well here and he’s getting back to real fitness and sharpness, it takes a long time, we’ve seen it with our lads. He’d been out for a long time.
“He’s enjoying it, he wants to play, of course, but he’s enjoying what we offer here.”
Dyche has also insisted he is under no pressure from Liverpool to start him despite reports he must play in 75 per cent of games.
