Swansea City manager Paul Clement says Renato Sanches is a "big doubt" for the home clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Swansea pulled off a sensational swoop to sign Portugal international Sanches this summer on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich although the new arrival has found if difficult adjusting to life in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old has made four league appearances but he may have to wait until next weekend to make his fifth outing of the season after picking up a injury whilst on international duty.
Clement confirmed the midfielder is struggling with the issue although the rest of the squad are fit and healthy going into the crucial contest against the Terriers at the Liberty Stadium.
"We are in pretty good shape," he said. "We have just got one issue from international duty. Renato Sanches is a big doubt for the weekend. He picked up a minor thigh strain while training for Portugal which looks like it will rule him out for this weekend.
"We are not 100 per cent sure yet. He had a second scan today and we are waiting for further news. Disappointing because with each game that he has played for us, he has improved, his fitness in improving but it will be a short term injury.
"If he does miss this weekend, it is highly probably he will be available for next weekend."
