Tottenham are set to speak to the representative of Brazilian sensation Guilherme Arana on Tuesday as they sound him out about a move.
The 19-year-old has only made 14 senior appearances for current club Corinthians but has already caught the eye of several teams in Europe, with Spurs and German outfit Schalke said to be at the head of the queue.
It is understood the Bundesliga side have already met with the left-back's camp and, eager not to lose ground, Spurs are set to speak to Arana's agent.
According to a report in the Italian press, the north London outfit have a slight advantage over Schalke having negotiated with Corinthians before when signing midfielder Paulinho in 2013.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino already has two relatively young left-backs amongst his squad in Ben Davies and Danny Rose so a move for Arana could spell danger for one of them, with Davies behind Rose in the pecking order.
