Tottenham are reportedly ready to pounce for Geoffrey Kondogbia if Valencia decide against taking up an option on their loanee.
The 24-year-old is on loan with Los Che for the season from Inter Milan and the Spanish club have the option to make his switch permanent in the summer for 25million euros.
Valencia have previously hinted that they may decide not to pursue a permanent deal and that could open up the door for Spurs to swoop.
Tottenham are known to be long-term admirers of the former Monaco and Sevilla man but they can only sit back and wait for the different scenarios to unfold.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly believes that he could provide extra cover for the likes of Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko and Mousa Dembele in midfield.
