New Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has reportedly put Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes at the top of his January wish-list.
The Sun claim Villa could make an attempt to sign the 26-year-old Scotland international in the next transfer window if he becomes available.
Rhodes has featured just three times for Boro this season - for a total of 101 minutes - and has yet to score a goal.
Bruce, who saw a £12m bid for Rhodes rejected by Blackburn when he was in charge of Hull City two years ago, is looking for reinforcements to bolster his new club's prospects of bouncing back to the Premier League.
However, a new striker wouldn't seem to be his priority as Bruce already has a wealth of forwards on his books at Villa Park.
