Saint-Etienne's French midfielder Jonathan Bamba is being lined up by Huddersfield ahead of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks with the French Ligue 1 outfit and has spent time away on loan at Ligue 2 club Paris FC, Belgian First Division A club Sint-Truiden and rival top-flight side Angers in recent seasons.
However, Bamba has been thrust into the Les Verts first team this term and has repaid the faith shown in him with four goals in eight Ligue 1 outings.
His form has already alerted numerous managers around Europe and reports in France claim Terriers chief David Wagner is keen to take him to the Premier League.
Indeed the Terriers could get Bamba for a bargain fee because he is due to fall out of contract next summer which means if he penned a pre-contract agreement at the John Smith's Stadium in January, the club would just have to pay some compensation due to him being under the age of 24.
