McLaren boss Eric Boullier is looking for an immediate response from his drivers in the US Grand Prix after a poor weekend in Japan.
After a slight upturn in fortunes for Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, the pair finished 18th and 16th respectively at Suzuka in what was a woeful race for the Woking-based marque.
Alonso has racked up a number of top-10 finishes in recent times while Button managed to finish ninth in Malaysia before a disappointing showing in Japan.
The teams have now moved on to Austin, Texas for this weekend's showpiece and Boullier feels the track lay-out will suit his team much more than the one last time out.
"It’s no secret that we didn’t achieve the results we were looking for at Suzuka, and since returning from Japan we’ve been working hard to find the appropriate solutions to avoid a continuation of this in Austin," he said.
"The Circuit of The Americas is a very different challenge in its configuration, so we hope we’ll be able to see improved performance there."
