Max Verstappen has been handed the Personality of the Year award at the FIA Prize Giving ceremony in Paris for the third straight year.
The 23-year-old finished sixth in the Formula One standings, with 168 points to his name, but outscored team-mate Daniel Ricciardo by two wins to one.
The youngster, who took the chequered flag in Malaysia and Mexico, has been tipped as a future world champion in the high-octane sport.
Having overcome reliability issues to shine during the second half of the campaign, Verstappen was pleased with the way things turned out and delighted to have been handed the accolade once again.
"It is great that I have again received this prize from the FIA, it is a very nice recognition," he said. "With my two wins, of course, it was a pretty positive season.
"We did have a difficult start with too many problems. In this sense, it was important to remain positive even in difficult times. After the dropouts, it was nice to win the race in Malaysia. That was my highlight of the season."
