Gazidis coy on Wenger extension

The Frenchman celebrates 20 years in charge of the Gunners this month and continues to prove his worth, guiding the team to victory in six of their last seven matches in all competitions.

However, this could well be Wenger's final season at the helm with his current deal set to expire next summer and no talks having taken place over an extension as yet.

Gazidis has given no indication as to whether the club's board want Wenger to stay on and has even hinted that Arsenal might be finally preparing for life after the legendary coach.

CEO Gazidis said: "Arsenal is not Arsene Wenger. They’re not one in the same thing."

When discussing a new contract for Wenger, he added: "He's been clear and we’ve always been clear, that's a mutual decision as to how long he'll continue.

"Both need to be on the same page on that. In a football sense, he has transformed the club."
