Heurelho Gomes believes Watford got what they deserved after they drew 3-3 with Liverpool in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
The Hornets twice led at Vicarage Road, but they went into stoppage time trailing 3-2, before defender Miguel Britos popped up with a timely equaliser.
Goalkeeper Gomes believes the Hornets were full value for the draw and he praised the fighting spirit of Marco Silva's squad.
"I believed we didn't deserve less," Gomes said on Sky Sports Football. "We fight to the end and that's the spirit we have. We have to make life difficult for any team that comes here, this is our house.
"We have to show Liverpool respect, but they have to show everything to try to win. They did, but we deserve what we got."
Watford will now be looking to build on their opening-day draw when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium next week, with Britos, the scorer of their late equaliser, admitting that the they must learn from the mistakes they made against Liverpool.
"It's very important to start the season with a point," Britos said. "It's always positive when you get something, especially at home. We have to carry on this way, to correct our mistakes. We have a lot of players injured, even today at the start of the season, so I think we can improve."
