West Ham have confirmed that midfielder George Dobson has agreed to join Sparta Rotterdam on a two-year contract.
The 19-year-old joined West Ham in the summer of 2015 after coming through Arsenal’s academy and he was a key part of the club’s under-21 squad.
Dobson played a big role in helping the youth team to win the Premier League Cup in May 2016 and he gained some first-team experience last term after agreeing to go on loan to League One side Wallsall.
However, he was unlikely to breakthrough into first-team contention at the London Stadium for the new season and has now opted to head to the Netherlands.
West Ham confirmed the news via their official website: “Everyone at the Club would like to thank George for his service to West Ham and wish him the very best for the future.”
