Reports emerged at the weekend claiming the Merseysiders were keen to bring the New Zealand international to Goodison Park and were prepared to offer £9million for the 29-year-old.

Everton are in need of a new centre-half, having lost Ramiro Funes Mori to a serious knee injury, but West Ham are set to tell them to look elsewhere, making it clear they would not welcome any interest in Reid.

Reid only signed a new six-and-a-half year contract with West Ham in March 2015 and the club were reported to be looking to improve the terms of his deal earlier this year, while also inserting a £20million buyout clause in the hope of warding off any interested parties.
