Watford are still considering whether to offer Federico Macheda a contract following his recent trial at the club.
The former Manchester United striker was taken in on trial by the Hornets at the end of September and he was given a run-out in the Under-23s, when he scored a penalty in a 4-2 defeat against Hull.
The 25-year-old, who has had loan spells at QPR, Birmingham and Nottingham Forest since leaving United, was last in action in the UK for Cardiff but he's been without a club since the summer following his release by the Bluebirds.
He is believed to have impressed the Watford coaching staff during his trial but no decision has yet been made on if he will be offered a short-term deal at Vicarage Road.
Macheda was on the verge of a move to Italian side Pescara but the switch fell through and he's hoping to instead enjoy a new spell in the Premier League with Walter Mazzarri's side.
