The Hornets have made a satisfactory start to the campaign, picking up eight points from seven games, as they sit in 11th place in the table.

Results and performances have been mixed, with impressive displays like the 4-2 success at West Ham mixed in with disappointing games like the 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

Mazzarri says keeping hold of the ball better is an aim for his side moving forward as he plots a successful season.

"Something we still need to work on is to keep the ball more and also to get better in moving the ball quicker," he said.

"There are still some things in the middle of the game that we still need to improve."

Watford are next in action when they go to Middlesbrough after the international break on October 16.
