AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has dismissed suggestions he will make a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas in January.
Milan are on the look out for a new midfielder after losing Riccardo Montolivo to injury for up to six months, and reports suggested that Fabregas was a target.
However Montella says Fabregas is not the kind of midfielder that can replace Montolivo, and there are no plans to make a move for the Spaniard when the transfer window re-opens.
"We are looking for a player who has the characteristics of Montolivo, who can also play in a midfield two," Montella revealed. "Fabregas? He doesn't have those particular attributes."
The 29-year-old has also been linked with a move to fellow Italian sides Inter Milan and Juventus as he struggles for first-team football under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.
