No Bony worries for Hughes

Manager Mark Hughes is confident on-loan striker Wilfried Bony will establish himself as a key man for Stoke when he is "up to speed".

The Ivory Coast international joined the Potters in a season-long loan deal from Manchester City in August.

Bony has managed four Premier League appearances for Stoke but remains without a goal and Hughes feels the former Swansea man is still settling in to his new surroundings.

However, Hughes is convinced Bony will prove his worth as he sees the 27-year-old as a "top-level striker".

He told reporters: "We see elements of his play that we are really impressed with. We see it every day in training that he's a really accomplished finisher.

"He's a top-level striker who just needs to get off and running. He's not quite there yet, he'd admit that himself, there's scope for improvement, but when he's up to speed he will be a quality striker for us."
