Stoke first-team coach Stuart Taylor feels the players have reacted well to the training demands of new manager Paul Lambert.
Having taken over from Mark Hughes with the side struggling in the Premier League, former Aston Villa boss Lambert has come in and imposed a strict training regime with players working as many as six days a week.
Taylor has been impressed with the reactions of the players and feels they have adapted well to Lambert's arrival and believes it will stand the squad in good stead going forward.
“It’s been demanding for them and they’ve stepped up to that,” he said. “Every day on the training pitch they have been brilliant, they really have.
“There’s been a few aspects put towards them in terms of the intensity of the training and they’ve answered that and we have been really happy with them since we came in.
“Every single day you’ve got to work hard and that’s the demands the manager puts on the players - and the staff - and they’ve got to make sure their foot’s on the pedal every single day driving forward.”
