Former midfielder Danny Murphy believes the Stoke squad demonstrated they are fully behind boss Mark Hughes last weekend.
The Potters have made a terrible start to the 2016-17 campaign after claiming just three points from their opening seven Premier League fixtures as they sit 19th.
However, they looked much improved last time out against Manchester United as they picked up a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Murphy, who played under Hughes at Fulham, feels that the squad showed they are fighting for the Welshman and expects they will soon start to climb clear of the bottom three.
"When they went 1-0 down after their recent results, and the amount of stick they've had, the reaction was magnificent and I think that was a group of players who are still thoroughly behind the manager and I don't see Stoke having a relegation battle this season if they continue to play like that," Murphy said.
