Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has admitted that Southampton deserved to win Sunday's goalless draw at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes have made a stuttering start to their Premier League title defence and Sunday's clash saw them continue to find life hard.
An in-form Southampton side looked the better team at the King Power with Charlie Austin striking the post and passing up some good opportunities.
Ranieri conceded that his men were not up to the task and praised Kasper Schmeichel for keeping them in the game.
"I thought Southampton deserved to win.” Ranieri said.
"They had more chances and better control today. We have to continue to work.
"I'm happy with the point because we conceded too many chances. Fortunately for us, Kasper Schmeichel made good saves.
"It's a new experience, adapting after Champions League [games]. Southampton made seven changes today and maybe that's why they were better."
