Liverpool are in the box seat to do a deal for Monaco star Thomas Lemar, but may have to wait until the summer.
The Frenchman is reported to have told the Reds he will join them if a deal can be agreed with his club, but that will be easier said than done as a number of other clubs are reported to be in the hunt.
Arsenal came close to signing the forward in the last window, only for the deal to collapse at the last minute, and are sniffing around once again, while it is claimed that Manchester United are also showing an interest.
Liverpool have money to spend following the departure of Philippe Coutinho and could match Monaco’s £85million valuation before the window closes.
However the Principality outfit are confident a bidding war could ensue and are reluctant to cash in just yet as the price could rise even further if that happens.
Monaco could also decide to wait until the summer before selling, leaving Liverpool frustrated in the hunt for Coutinho’s replacement.
