Two tries from full-back Greg Inglis and further scores from winger Valentine Holmes, full-back Darius Boyd and second-rower Boyd Cordner handed the Kangaroos their second successive victory over the Kiwis, following their 16-0 victory at the Hunter Stadium in May.

The result means New Zealand's new coaching team of David Kidwell and former Hull KR pair Justin Morgan and Willie Poching got off to a losing start, although they did score a try of their own through second-row Kevin Proctor.

Both sides will now turn their attention to the Four Nations in England later this month.

Australia start their campaign against Scotland at the KC Lightstream Stadium on October 28, while defending champions New Zealand will face the hosts at Huddersfield's John Smith's Stadium a day later.
