Having missed the 35-34 win over Scotland due to injury, Pocock returned to the starting XV for the semi-final with Argentina on Sunday.
The Brumbies star was his disruptive best at the breakdown and the bloody-nosed No.8 was on the right side of the 29-15 scoreline at Twickenham.
Hooper was delighted with the effort from his side against a resilient Pumas outfit and gave special mention to the work put in by the returning Pocock.
He said: "You've got to want to put your head in there to get the result. Pocock puts his head into some places that are pretty dangerous and gets the ball out.
"Not only does he win penalties, he gets a clean steal and that can change the momentum of the game really well."
Australia will now face old rivals New Zealand in the final of the tournament on Saturday, while Argentina will take on South Africa in the third-place play-off on Friday night.
