Harlequins flanker Luke Wallace could miss the start of the new campaign after suffering a hip injury in pre-season.
The 26-year-old boasts 128 appearances for Harlequins having made his debut in 2009 but they may have to begin the 2017-18 season without him.
Harlequins claimed a victory over London Irish on Saturday as they continue their pre-season preparations but Wallace was forced off after dislocating his hip.
The Premiership outfit confirmed that he was taken to hospital for further assessment and they hope to have a clearer picture about the full extent of the problem next week.
Harlequins confirmed the news via their official website: “The team of medics were able to relocate his hip, before he was transferred to a local hospital.
“Harlequins will provide a further update when more detail is available.
“In the meantime, we would like to wish Luke a speedy recovery.”
