Saracens are thought to be in advanced talks to land South Africa lock Eben Etzebeth on a short-term contract.
The Springboks are in the northern hemisphere next month and start their tour of Europe with a clash against England at Twickenham on November 12.
Sarries are thought to be lining up an ambitious move to bring Etzebeth to Allianz Park in a deal similar to the three-month one he enjoyed in Japan during the off-season with his Super Rugby outfit the Stormers.
Etzebeth could do a job in the second row for Saracens around the busy Christmas period which could also lead into the Six Nations when Maro Itoje and George Kruis would be away on England duty.
A move for the 24-year-old to Allianz Park would also see him join up with former Stormers team-mate Schalk Burger.
