Stoke midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri is again being linked with a move to AS Roma, who need reinforcents in the January window.
Shaqiri's agent was recently quoted as saying his client would be interested in a potential move to Roma, but at the same time said he is happy and focused with Stoke.
However the Italian press are now suggesting that Roma will step up their attempts to strike a deal as they need a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will head off to the African Nations Cup in the new year.
Shaqiri has shown what a valuable player he is to the Potters after returning to the side following a calf injury, and the fact their form has improved, is no coincidence.
Stoke will have no intention of cashing in on the Swiss international anytime soon, but if reports in the Italian press are to be believed, their resolve to keep hold will be tested in January.
