Pape Souare says he is unsure when he will return to the senior Crystal Palace team after stepping up his recovery from injury.
The Senegalese full-back suffered serious thigh and jaw injuries in a horrific car crash last September and it was feared at the time of the accident that he might not play again.
However, the 27-year-old has been slowly working his way back to full fitness and has recently had two run-outs for the Eagles' Under-23.
Souare played the whole game in his third outing for the U23s on Monday against Sheffield Wednesday and admitted afterwards he was delighted to get a full 90 minutes under his belt for the first time in over a year.
Souare says he was feeling good after completing the match but remains unsure whether he will be back in the reckoning for the first-team anytime soon.
"I don't really know if I will play, but I am just taking it step by step and doing what I have to do," he told the Croydon Advertiser.
"I don't know when, but I am feeling good right now to complete this full game, and the next step is to get ready for the first team."
