Marin Cilic has taken to social media to confirm he has split with Swedish coach Jonas Bjorkman after 16 months.
The Croatian drafted in Bjorkman, who has also worked with former world number one Andy Murray, in 2016 and the Swede helped him climb to number four in the world in October 2017.
The 29-year-old made it to the final at Queen’s and Wimbledon, while he reached four other semi-finals on the tour.
However, Cilic struggled to get over the line in the latter stages of tournaments and he ended 2017 with just one title to his name.
Cilic will continue to work with compatriot Ivan Cinkus but he confirmed the split with Bjorkman via Twitter.
“@BjorkmanTennis and me won't be working together anymore.” Cilic Tweeted.
“We had some great results during 16 months and established an amazing relationship. It was a great pleasure to work with him.
“Would like to thank him for all his efforts and wish him the best.”
