World number two Simona Halep says she is suffering with a foot injury and will continue to monitor the issue.
Halep made her first appearance since losing to Caroline Wozniacki in the final of the Australian Open on Wednesday in the Qatar Open second round, having received a bye in the first round.
The Romanian was a comfortable straight-sets winner over Russian Ekaterina Makarova, winning 6-3 6-0, and she will now go up against Latvian Anastasija Sevastov on Thursday for a place in the quarter-finals.
Following her win in Doha, Halep, seeded second in the tournament, revealed she still feels anxious about the ankle injury but confirmed she will be fit for the last-16 clash.
'For sure, yeah. And I will try to finish the match' she said. 'I started already to talk too much about this injury, it's just a problem with my foot.
'The doctor said that nothing can happen like worse to break something.
'But still when I will feel stronger pain, I think I will just think -- I will double think about it and I will take the best decision.'
