Joyce confirms Azarenka split

Azarenka joined forces with Joyce at the start of 2017 but the pair only worked together at two tournaments - the Mallorca Open and Wimbledon - due to personal issues affecting the former world number one.

The Belarusian is currently involved in a long legal process for her son Leo's custody with her ex, which has forced her to take extra time away from the sport to focus on family matters.

When confirming the split, Joyce respected Azarenka's decision to put tennis second at the moment but he revealed he needs to kick on with his coaching career.

"Vika is an extremely talented player," he wrote in a statement. "While I am excited to see her return to tennis, I also encourage and respect her decision to put her family first. It's with a deep regret that I have decided to move forward with my coaching career while she continues to work out her private life.

"I look forward to seeing her on the Tour and wish her the best of luck."

It is now being suggested that Joyce could link-up with British number one Johanna Konta, who recently ended her partnership with Wim Fissette.
