Petra Kvitova should be ready to play at Wimbledon this summer and may even make a shock appearance at the French Open next week.
Kvitova has been out of the game for the past six months after she was attacked by an intruder in her apartment in the Czech Republic.
The injuries she suffered at the time forced her to undergo surgery to repair tendons and nerves in her left hand and it was suggested at the time that she may not play at all this year.
However, the two-time Wimbledon champion has made a swift recovery and the 27-year-old is on course to return to action soon.
It appears Wimbledon, which starts on July 3, is her main target but a spokeswoman for Kvitova has admitted she may even be in contention to play at Roland Garros next week.
"She is on track for Wimbledon," Kvitova's publicity manager Katie Spellman has been quoted saying on eir Sport.
"She will make a last-minute decision about Roland Garros."
