Petra Kvitova says she is "enjoying playing again" after reaching the final of the Aegon Classic in Birmingham.
Kvitova sustained a career-threatening hand injury in December when she was stabbed by an intruder in her home.
The Czech star is competing in her second tournament since her return and is now through to the final in Birmingham after compatriot Lucie Safarova retired in their last-four clash on Saturday, with Kvitova 6-1 1-0 ahead.
"I am enjoying playing again," Kvitova told the BBC.
"I couldn't play for five or six months and I missed it. It wasn't my choice to have a break, but I always try to see positive things.
"I'm trying to enjoy tennis more and seeing things from a different angle."
The former world number two and two-time Wimbledon champion will face Australia's Ashleigh Barty in the final on Sunday.
Barty overcame Spain's Garbine Muguruza 3-6 6-4 6-3 in the other semi-final in Birmingham.
