Nick Kyrgios has slammed fans for booing him at the Shanghai Masters despite the Australian giving up in his defeat to Mischa Zverev.
The controversial 21-year-old has never been too far from the headlines for his on-court antics and the Canberra player was at it again as he suffered a 6-3 6-1 defeat to Zverev on Wednesday.
Kyrgios was seen tapping over serves and walking to his chair before the return, to a chorus of boos from the supporters.
After his exit at the Shanghai Masters, Kyrgios had some strong words for the onlookers and questioned why they had the right to show their disapproval at his lacklustre performance.
He told reporters: "I can't really understand it at all. They don't know what I'm going through.
"If you don't like it, I didn't ask you to come watch. Just leave. If you're so good at giving advice and so good at tennis, why aren't you as good as me? Why aren't you on the tour?"
