The Spanish star is currently ranked as the world number two, with Simona Halep ahead of her thanks to a slender 40 point lead.

The 24-year-old, who claimed the Wimbledon title earlier this year, feels she needs to improve her consistency but is confident she can reclaim the world number one spot.

She told Cadena Ser: "The consistency is important, but for my personality and game style, the first thing is not the consistency but being aggressive and taking risks.

"I have to be more consistent and improve details. When you are at a very high level, it's about details, be faster with feet, improving volley, training the serve, a shot where Williams sisters [Serena and Venus] are the best to hit. I train all the days thinking about being number one again."
