Manchester United have made contact over a potential deal for Valencia's Fran Villalba, 18, according to the midfielder's agent.
Villalba made his Los Che debut during Gary Neville's brief stint in charge at the Mestalla but is yet to feature this season.
The midfielder is under contract until 2021 but the youngster's current release clause is reportedly just 4million euros, meaning United should be able to push through a deal if they decide to make a move before Valencia have renegotiated his deal.
Agent Vicente Fores has now confirmed United have made contact with him but claims as yet they have not spoken to the La Liga outfit.
Fores told Sport Witness: "With me [contact has been made]. Just a contact to know his situation. They’re already aware.
"I don’t know about Valencia. But I reckon they will make it hard. We've just started talking. It’s up to United."
