Granit Xhaka will miss Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie at Nottingham Forest having joined a growing injury list for Arsenal.
The Switzerland midfielder finished Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Chelsea with a tight groin and the Gunners will not take a risk on him when they travel to the City Ground to start their defence of the cup.
Xhaka joins Sead Kolasinac, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud in being ruled out through injury, limiting Arsene Wenger's options for the clash.
The Arsenal boss says he will rotate his squad following the busy festive period with Danny Welbeck, Francis Coquelin, Mathieu Debuchy and Theo Walcott all thought to be in line to feature.
David Ospina is also expected to get the nod to start in goal with Petr Cech dropping out.
