President Donald Trump has warned Apple that it'll be slapped with tariffs set to be placed on imports from China unless it starts making its goods in the US.
The 72-year-old politician has told the technology giant - founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne - that it will need to start making its equipment in America otherwise it'll face the expensive repercussions.
According to the Independent newspaper, he said: "Apple prices may increase because of the massive Tariffs we may be imposing on China - but there is an easy solution where there would be ZERO tax, and indeed a tax incentive. Make your products in the United States instead of China."
The president's response comes after Apple warned that making its products in the US would mean that they would have to increase the retail price.
Apple said in a letter to head office: "Because all tariffs ultimately show up as a tax on US consumers, they will increase the cost of Apple products that our customers have come to rely on in their daily lives. The burden of the proposed tariffs will fall much more heavily on the United States than on China."
