Beats will release its first ever pair of truly wireless earbuds next month.



The tech giant has confirmed it is taking preorders for the upcoming new Powerbeats Pro headphones on May 3, with the official launch coming a week later on May 10.

The product was announced earlier this month, and now the company has revealed that they are days away from giving customers the chance to guarantee themselves a pair.

Costing $250, the Powerbeats Pro will - just like the new AirPods - run using Apple's H1 chip, which means the earbuds will also feature instant pairing with an iPhone when the case is open, and access to Siri hands-free.

However, the Beats product won't have the option of buying them alongside a wireless charging case.

Although only a black version will be available at launch, other colours - including ivory, navy and moss - will be are expected to ship over the summer.

While the Powerbeats Pro headphones cost $50 more than the second generation AirPods, they also feature a big difference in design.

Whereas the latter look similar to the EarPods headphones included in the iPhone's box, the Beats offering featuring hooks wrapping around the ear to make for a snug and secure fit.
