Tidal is bringing master quality audio to its HiFi members using the service on Android smartphones.
The company revealed on Monday (07.01.19) that Tidal Masters uses technology developed by MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) to make large music files compatible across any service or device while retaining its quality.
It means the Android app will now come with the MQA decoder, which will give users the option of richer sound quality.
Tidal COO Lior Tibon said: "This is a major advancement for the audiophile community and Tidal's HiFi members.
"As our platform evolves, our partnership with MQA continues to expand and cements our position as a leader in the High-Fidelity audio space."
Meanwhile, MQA CEO Mike Jbara commented on his company's collaboration with Jay Z's platform.
He added: "We know that most music fans are choosing to stream on their phones. MQA's view is that you should have the best quality sound regardless of where you're listening.
"We're delighted that, through our ongoing collaboration with Tidal, access to master quality audio is now expanding across mobile."
